We hope you enjoy your stay. It is always our goal to offer five star service! From luxury linens and towels, a fully stocked kitchen, to our premium hot tub we want you to enjoy and give you a 5 star experience. If you have any concerns, please give us a chance to make it right during your stay.

We have ROKU TVs where you can watch movies and shows for free OR feel free to log in to your own subscription to catch up on your favorite shows. Just don’t forget to log out.

What about wildlife and insects?

We are IN the mountains. Please note that you will most likely see insects and wildlife. We have raccoons, snakes, skunks, deer, and yes even bear. Please remember to put up all food trash and do not leave anything out to attract animals. Blu Arrow Cabin receives regular pest control but occasionally due to the nature of our location, bugs may get in. We recommend keeping doors closed to eliminate that possibility as much as possible. Please do not leave food out for the bears!

Check in and your stay:

Welcome! Our front door automatically locks after 15 minutes. Please remember your individual lock code sent to you with check-in information.

Check out procedures:

We want you to actually feel like you are on vacation, so please DO NOT strip the beds. DO NOT do five loads of laundry before you leave. We only ask that pick up after yourself. You wash
any used dishes/run the dishwasher, remove your food from the refrigerator and take all the household trash to the outside trashcan. Please note that ALL trash must fit in the outside can and cannot be loose. The trash must be in bags. If you exceed the space of the trashcan then we do ask you take it down the road to the local recycle center 5 minutes away: Carson Center Recycling, 3030 Old Murphy Rd

Please put back any furniture or items that were moved and leave the house in a “broom” clean condition (no trash laying around).

Safety:

Our cabin has 4 cameras located on the outside to cover entry points for when the house is unoccupied and a front door camera. There are no cameras on the back porch area and none inside the house. We have a fire extinguisher located in the
pantry.

Hot tub rules:

Lift cover using the handle and fold over the metal frame.
Lift both layers of the cover
Allow both halves of the cover to gently slide towards the ground.

Hot tubs are not recommended for children or people with certain medical issues. Use of the hot tub is at your own risk. Please consult with your physician if you are unsure. We are not liable for use against hot tub recommended guidelines. Please note that you are liable for any misuse of the hot tub, the lid or it’s components. We highly recommend not using lotions, soaps, or conditioner immediately prior to entering and we advise rinsing off before entering. If a water change is necessary because of misuse we will assess a $100 fee for a deep clean. We have attached an easy open bar to the hot tub lid. Please NEVER place the lid on the ground. Keep hot tub lid closed when NOT in use.

HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES:

Please note that the oven is new and runs hot. We recommend broiling/baking a lesser amount of time.

To start the dishwasher it must be open. While it is still open, choose your settings. Then close the dishwasher and press start.

For more microwave settings- with microwave open choose buttons like “popcorn” etc, and then close the microwave.

Our house is run by an amazing 500 foot deep well. Occasionally water pressure can drop when multiple people are showering or multiple appliances are using water.

Blue Arrow cabin sits on a ridge tucked in the Blue Ridge mountains on 6 acres. Straight down from the cabin sits a low lying area that contains 3 freshwater, mountain springs.

Across the highway you will find the reason we named our cabin, Blue Arrow cabin. Parker Meadows Complex a public park is known for the Native American burial ground located there. Our area is known for the Eastern band of Cherokee Indians that used to live here. Real arrow heads are commonly found in Macon County. If you have children, encourage them to look around outside our cabin for “arrow heads”. If they find some take a picture and post it and tag us on

Our family’s top 5 favorite things to do, besides hiking to waterfalls...

1. Rent a boat at Alarka Marina for the day, tube, jump of cliffs into the water, find the waterfall that falls into Fontana Lake, visit Fontana Dam all from the boat!

2. Whitewater rafting. In Bryson City at the Nantahala outdoor center where kids as young as 7 can raft. Carolina Outfitters White Water Rafting, Ocoee River -12 yr olds and above.

3. Explore cute little mountain towns-Clayton, Tallulah, Bryson, Dillsboro, Bryson City, Hayesville, Highlands, Cashiers, Blairsville and of course-Franklin!

4. Drive to Bryson City along the Nantahala Gorge and stop along the way for the views. Stop at Findley Falls Trailhead and visit the waterfall. Best drive around and great for fall colors!!

5. Visit the Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Cherokee and museum. Visit the historic farm, see the elk. Stop at Paul’s family restaurant for Cherokee Fry bread and bison burgers. Shop the local handcrafted Cherokee goods!

1 minute away- Parker Meadows Complex: bring your own tubes and a picnic, spend the day tubing down a natural lazy river!

2 minutes-1/2 mile- H & H Farm Stand-soft serve ice cream, in season produce, local honey and food goods, corn maze, pumpkin patch in season.

4.7 miles- Bartram Trail: Wallace Branch to William's Pulpit (waterfall at beginning of trail-easy)

5 miles-The Factory -(fun for kids-go-karts and games)

6 miles-Little Tennessee River Greenway, park-trails

5 miles-Macon County Recreation Park-park, trails, swimming pool, river

9.3 miles-Rufus Morgan Trail and Falls (easy trail, 1 mile around) maintained gravel rd.

14 miles-Shooting Creek Scenic Overlook (beautiful views, short trail, picnic table)

14.2 miles-Wayah Bald-highest point in the area and amazing views, hiking, picnic area, fire tower. AT trail and Bartram trails. Maintained gravel rd.

16 miles-Big Laurel Falls and Mooney Falls (maintained gravel rd.)

16.8 miles Bust your Butt Falls- views, hiking, swimming hole - [same road-Dry Falls (easy) and Bridal Veil falls (easy)] Scenic Byway!

19 miles-Cliffside Recreation Area-hiking, lake swimming, waterfall, picnic, fishing

25 miles- Black Rock Mountain State park-hiking, views, picnic, fishing

28 miles-Tiger Drive In Theatre
